Bethany Hastings is a fine artist whose work aims to showcase the beauty in life and nature, as well as exploring the deeper theme of faith in God. Through her paintings, she reflects on both the intricacy of the natural world—seen in her expressive interpretations of birds and flowers—and the nature of God and His relationship with people.

Working primarily in oils and sometimes watercolour, her work aims to joyfully capture light, atmosphere, detail and colour. Alongside her studio practice, she is an established scenic artist, creating large-scale painted backdrops for ballet and opera, where an understanding of light, movement, and composition informs her approach to canvas. Bethany has an MA in Scenic Art from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, where she enjoyed developing her artistic skills and learnt a range of scenic techniques, whilst working on the school's live theatre productions.

Bethany enjoys taking commissions and her commissioned works span a wide range of subjects, including landscapes, travel scenes and portraiture. Her approach is versatile and unique, and she enjoys the challenge of working with new materials and styles.
